Pushpa: The Rise is an action-adventure crime drama set at the 90s where Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) works as a porter at Konda Reddy’s (Ajay Ghosh) sandalwood company in the Seshachalam Hills of the Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Konda Reddy smuggles red sandalwood, a rare wood that only grows in South India and makes good money to become a sandalwood landlord. Despite police raids in the forest and factory Konda Reddy successfully evades them with the help of Pushpa Raj who hides and recovers the stock, thereby gaining the trust of his employer. With the help Konda Reddy, Pushpa quickly rises through the ranks and becomes his partner. Things take a U-turn when Konda’s rivals get to know about Pushpa’s rise as the latter now starts dreaming big to reign supreme in the sandalwood business and get his mother all the respect that she lost for him being born out of wedlock.
