Shatak is set in 19th-century India, a time marked by British rule, imperial dominance, and deep socio-cultural repression. Against this turbulent backdrop emerges Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, widely known as Doctorji, born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, who envisions a movement to rekindle nationalism and restore social unity. Guided by principles of education, physical fitness, discipline, and selfless service, Hedgewar instills these values in his followers through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The film traces his inspiring journey as the founder of the organization, from its early struggles to its growing influence, culminating in his decision to pass on the leadership to Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar.
