Shor in the City is a crime drama. The movie revolves around three characters – Tilak (Tusshar Kapoor), Abhay (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and Sawan (Sundeep Kishan). Tilak is a small-time publisher of unlicensed books, he kidnaps a famous author and forces him to give the manuscript of his next novel. Abhay is an NRI who returns to India to start his small business. Sawan is a young cricketer who wants to enter the under-22 Mumbai cricket team. The movie focuses on the difficulties faced by the publisher, businessman and cricketer as they battle to survive in the chaotic period in Mumbai during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.
