Suraag is a thriller mystery drama. The movie follows the story of a young bachelor, Dr. Gupta (Parikshit Sahni), who lives in Los Angeles (LA), and is looking for a prospective bride for himself. He decides to travel to Bombay, India, with his friend Prof. Saxena (Sanjeev Kumar) to find a bride for himself, and meets a beautiful and well-mannered Indian girl, named Sunita (Shabana Azmi). The two soon get married and Gupta travels back to LA, and sends a ticket to Sunita after a few weeks. Sunita prepares to leave and boards the flight; however, she goes missing and never arrives in LA, which shocks Gupta. The question arises, whether Sunita has disappeared on her own, or has she been kidnapped?
