Tadka is a family comedy drama and the remake of the Malayalam film Salt N Pepper that narrates the unconventional tale of an old-school, middle-aged man Tukaram (Nana Patekar) who has a passion for food and tries experimenting with various recipes. Tukaram has a nephew Siddharth (Ali Fazal) who is in love with Nicole (Taapsee Pannu) and wants to marry but until his uncle doesn’t marry, he vows to remain single. Thus, starts a bride hunt for Tukaram who is very particular about his likes and dislikes. Most of the match rejections by Tukaram lead to internal fighting within the family till a sudden misplaced call by a radio jockey named Madhura (Shriya Saran) adds the much-needed spice of love to his life. What follows next is a comical tussle between the two lead couples that form the climax of this heart-warming yet funny and entertaining story.
