Thackeray is a biographical flick on the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray who was a journalist, cartoonist, and political activist. The film portrays the life and times of the late leader on how he started his career and how he went on to become a cult leader for the upliftment of the people of Maharashtra. Nawazuddin Siddiqui reprises the role of the slain leader while Amrita Rao plays his wife Mina Thackeray.
