The Diplomat is a thriller drama based on true events where J.P. Singh (John Abraham) is posted as the Indian diplomat in Islamabad, Pakistan, who one day finds an Indian woman, Uzma Ahmed (Sadia Khateeb) seeking refuge within the Indian embassy in Islamabad. On interrogation it is noticed that she was lured into a false marriage with a Pakistani man, and how her life spirals into a nightmare. J.P. Singh moves from suspicion-to-support when he hears the terrified story of Uzma Ahmed and tries to help her out by sending her back to India without disturbing dilomatic ties between the two countries.
