The Scavengers of Dreams tells the tale of a couple, Birju (Shardul Bharadwaj), and his wife Shona (Sudipta Chakraborty), who make a living by collecting waste in the city of Kolkata from one of the wealthiest areas. They sort through the trash and bring items so they can read bedtime stories to their 6-year-old daughter at night. That is how they are connected to the wealthiest segments of society. Their lives are shattered when a new battery-operated car is introduced for their collections.
