Udaan is a coming-of-age drama that revolves around the life of seventeen-year-old Rohan (Rajat Barmecha). Rohan returns home after being expelled from school to his abusive, alcoholic father Bhairav (Ronit Roy) and six-year-old half-brother Aditya. Rohan is forced by his father to work in a metalworking factory, however, he wishes to be a writer. He’s supported by his uncle Jimmy (Ram Kapoor) but fails to convince his dad who makes him attend engineering classes. Rohan learns about his other half-sibling and stepmother and Bhairav’s plan to send Aditya to boarding school. Rahul finally decides to start a new life and takes Aditya with him, so they don’t have to acquiesce to their father anymore.
