Ye Mard Bechara is a family romantic comedy-drama set in a small town that touches upon the societal norms that men face every day and the stereotypes attached to manhood. The story revolves around a middle-class young man Shivam Sharma (Veeraj Rao) who belongs to a family where it’s believed that you are a man only if you possess a mustache. Shivam falls in love with Shivalika Khanna (Manukriti Pahwa) who likes cleanshaven men. To impress Shivalika, Shivam shaves off his mustache and uses a fake one in front of his family. One fine day Shivam's family gets to know about the truth and all hell breaks loose when all begin to doubt if he is a man or not.
