Anand Sagar was a film and television serial producer and director who belonged to the second generation of the Sagar Arts production house. He directed and also produced several popular projects, including the 1993 TV serial ‘Alif Laila’, ‘Jai Jai Jai Bajrang Bali’ and the remake of ‘Ramayan’. He was the son of legendary filmmaker Ramanand Sagar and had directed well-known Hindi films including ‘Baadal’, ‘Armaan’, ‘Pyaara Dushman’, ‘Ram Bharose’ and ‘Hamrahi’. He breathed his last in Mumbai on 13 February 2026.
