Innocent was an actor, producer, writer, playback singer and politician who primarily worked in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi film industries. He was mostly known for playing comedic characters in his career spanning over five decades. He acted in more than 700 films and is considered one of the best comedians in Malayalam cinema. Some of his memorable comedy roles were in Malayalam films like Ramji Rao Speaking, Mannar Mathai Speaking, Kilukkam, Godfather, Vietnam Colony, Nadodikattu, Manichitrathazhu and Kalyanaraman. He excelled in villainous roles such as Keli, Kathodu Kathoram, Kabooliwaala, Gajakesariyogam, Mithunam, Mazhavilkavadi, Manassinakkare, Thuruppugulan, Rasathanthram, Naran and Mahasamudram. He also acted in two Hindi films namely – Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1998) and Malamaal Weekly (2006). He was a recipient of many States and Filmfare awards. He breathed his last on 27 March 2023 in Kochi, Kerala.
