Prem Sagar was a TV and Hindi film producer, director and cinematographer and the son of legendary director Ramanand Sagar. He was a graduate of FTII Pune, and began his career under his father Ramanand Sagar's production banner Sagar Arts and worked as a cinematographer on films like 'Ankhen' , 'Lalkar' and 'Charas'. He later produced and directed 'Hum Tere Aashiq Hain' (1979) and is best remembered for creating the iconic TV series 'Ramayan' along with shows like 'Vikram Aur Betaal', 'Shri Krishna', and 'Alif Laila'. He passed away on 31 August 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 84.
