Rajendra Kumar was an Indian film actor and producer who had appeared in over 80 films in the career span of over four decades. He was one of the most successful actors of the 1960s. He started his acting career in Bollywood with a small role in the 1949 film Patanga. It was followed by superhits like Mother India (1957), Goonj Uthi Shehnai (1959), Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Gharana (1961), Dil Ek Mandir (1963), Mere Mehboob (1963), Sangam (1964), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1964), Suraj (1966), Talash (1969) and Ganwaar (1970). He married Shukla, sister of film producers Ramesh and Shyam Behl, and the couple had three children, including actor Kumar Gaurav.
