Rekha Kamat was a model, film, and TV actress born in 1932. She was more prominent in Marathi cinema than Bollywood. She started her acting career in 1952 with the Marathi film Lakhachi Gosht and went on to play important roles in Simhasan, Pak Pak Pakaak, and Subhmangal Savadhan, etc. She made her Bollywood debut in a minuscule role in Ramgopal Varma’s horror thriller Bhoot (2003) starring Ajay Devgn and Urmila Matondkar and thereafter appeared in Amole Gupte’s Hawaa Hawaai (2014). Due to health issues, she had taken retirement from acting a few years ago but sadly breathed her last in 2022.
