Uttara Baokar was an Indian stage, film, and television actress who worked primarily in Marathi and Hindi films. She started her acting career in 1988 with Govind Nihalani’s TV series Tamas which was followed by Shyam Benegal’s Yatra. She featured in many Hindi films including Ek Din Achanak, Sardari Begum, Thakshak, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Dor, Aaja Nachle, 8x10 Tasveer, and Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami, etc. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Mrinal Sen's Ek Din Achanak. She breathed her last at the age of 79 on 12 April 2023 after struggling with age-related health issues.
