Aarakshan is a social drama that is based on India’s education system and revolves around Dr. Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), principal of renowned STM College. Dr. Anand, along with his disciples, protests against the Supreme Court verdict to grant reservation to Other Backward Classes. However, they had to face consequences and overcome the difficulties for the same. Dr. Anand takes shelter in a cowshed owned by his cowherd friend Shambu and starts teaching unprivileged students. He then realizes that teaching would be the best way to fight back against the political conspiracy of powerful people.
