Born in Hisar, Haryana, Yashpal Sharma is an Indian film and theatre actor. After his graduation, he joined a drama school in Delhi, where he worked for 2 years before moving to Mumbai. He got his first big break in Govind Nihlani’s Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), starring Jaya Bachchan and Nandita Das. He got the limelight with his role in the Academy-Award nominated Lagaan (2001). Other important movies of his career include Gangajal (2003), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Kisna: The Warrior Poet (2005), Aaja Nachle (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008), Well Done Abba! (2009), Aarakshan (2011), Singh Saab the Great (2013), and many more.
