Raid 2 is the sequel of Raid (2018) which is set in 1989 where Income Tax Officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn) is given the task of raiding the palace of Raja Kunwar (Govind Namdeo) in Jaipur and confiscating truckloads of black money. To escape jail Raja’s manager bribes Amay who gets caught red-handed while accepting bribe and is transferred to Bhoj ruled by an MLA called Manohar Dhankar aka Dada Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh). Dada Bhai is not just a cabinet minister but also a philanthropist who has the support of the locals who worship him as a god. Amay despite knowing that Dada Bhai has stacked up huge black money but fails to find any. To get a clue about Dada Bhai’s black money, Amay interacts with the locals and soon seeks his senior Anjani Kaul’s (Rajat Kapoor) approval to raid Dada Bhai’s residence, office, and a five-star property but is still unable to find a single instance of unaccounted money. Amay is compelled to change his strategy to expose Dada Bhai. What happens next forms the rest of the plot.
