Adat Se Majboor is an action romantic family drama. The movie revolves around Dinanath (Madan Puri), who is Hindu devout and lives with his son Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty). One day Shankar brings home an orphaned young girl named Salma (Rameshwari), as he felt sorry for her. Salma nurses Dinanath and looks after the entire household, which makes Dinanath desire to make Salma his daughter-in-law. He confronts his son, and asks him to marry Salma. However, things take a turn, when Neetu (Ranjeeta Kaur) comes to Shankar’s life. It is revealed that Ranjeeta and Shankar are childhood sweethearts, and her return complicates Shankar and Salma’s relationship. It is yet to be found, whom does Shankar choose as his life partner?
