Baabul is a social family drama. The movie revolves around a rich businessman, Balraj Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan), who lives with his wife Sobhna (Hema Malini) and son Avinash (Salman Khan). Avinash marries a beautiful girl named Millie (Rani Mukherjee) and soon the two are blessed with a baby boy. Things take a turn for this happy family when Avinash meets with an accident and dies. Millie is devastated by Avinash’s death, and to bring happiness back in the life of his widowed daughter-in-law, Balraj asks Millie’s childhood friend Rajat (John Abraham) to marry Millie. However, his decision is opposed by his family members, as widow remarriage is still looked down upon in society.
