Bad Newz is a crazy laugh-a-riot comedy-drama that revolves around Saloni Bagga (Triptii Dimri), Gurbir Pannu (Ammy Virk), and Akhil Chadha (Vicky Kaushal). Saloni is an ambitious, leading chef who is married to Akhil, a restaurant owner in Delhi. A few trivial disputes lead to a divorce. After some time, Saloni gets a job in a famous hotel in Mussourie, where Gurbir is the owner. One fine night, a drunken Saloni happens to encounter Gurbir as well as Akhil, resulting in a one-night stand, unknowingly. Saloni's one-night stand leads to an unexpected pregnancy, where tests reveal that she has conceived twins, where one child is that of Akhil and the other is Gurbir's, which medical terminology is known as heteropaternal superfecundation. Knowing the situation, panic sets in as Akhil and Gurbir vie for Saloni's affection and try out various ways to prove that he is the real father.
