Cheeni Kum: A Sugar-Free Romance is a romantic comedy-drama. The movie focuses on Buddhadev Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan), a 64-year-old chef and owner of London’s top Indian restaurant, Spice 6. Buddhadev is an arrogant man with a passion for cooking, who has never been in love until Nina Verma (Tabu), a 34-year-old independent and charming Indian woman, walks into his life. The two have different personalities and a huge age gap, but against all odds, they fall in love. Buddhadev comes to ask Nina’s father, Om Prakash Verma (Paresh Rawal), for her hand. Their future seems to be uncertain as Om Prakash is six years younger than Buddhadev, and may never accept this relationship.
