Daawat-e-Ishq is a romantic comedy-drama that revolves around Gulrez ‘Gullu’ Qadir (Parineeti Chopra), a middle-class girl from Hyderabad, who lives with her father Abdul Qadir (Anupam Kher). Abdul is looking for a perfect match for Gullu but cannot afford to pay a big dowry. Gullu meets Tariq ‘Taru’ Haider (Aditya Roy Kapur), the manager of a renowned restaurant in Lucknow. Gullu and her father decide to implicate Taru and his family in a dowry case and move to America after recovering the money. Do the father and daughter duo succeed in their plan or not?
