Anupam Kher is a versatile Indian actor and director who has acted in over 500 films and several plays. He is the recipient of several awards including the National Film Award and Filmfare Award. He started his career with Mahesh Bhatt’s Saaransh (1984), alongside Rohini Hattangadi, for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Actor. He is best known for his works in movies like Vijay (1988), Ram Lakhan (1989), Daddy (1989), Lamhe (1991), Khel (1992), Darr (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara (2005). For his contribution to Indian cinema, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri (2004) and Padma Bhushan (2016). He is married to actress Kirron Kher since 1985 and is a stepfather to actor Sikander Kher.
