The Vaccine War follows the true story of ICMR Director General Dr. Bhargava (Nana Patekar) who mobilises a team of scientists which is led by NIV head (Pallavi Joshi) as India along with the rest of the world is gripped by the Covid-19 pandemic. It narrates the untold struggle and eventual success of our scientists who believed that India can have its own vaccine and not rely on foreign organizations. It also showcases the hurdles that we faced to manufacture a vaccine against the virus while also battling a malicious disinformation campaign by the media, led by a vindictive journalist (Raima Sen). And finally, how our Indian scientists decided to become ‘atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) in the war against Covid-19.
