The Kashmir Files is a film based on true events and the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus that took place in 1990. The events take us back to an era when Kashmir was known as paradise on earth where Kashmiri pandits and Muslims stayed in harmony before war broke out in the area with extremist and political groups getting together to seek independence from India. This was the time when Kashmiri pandits were killed and made to abandon their homeland to seek refuge in other parts of India. The story also showcases the abrogation of article 370 that snatched away rights from Kashmir state being given special status and becoming an integral part of India.
