The Accidental Prime Minister is the screen adaptation of Sanjaya Baru's book by the same title which portrays the turbulent times, incidents and events that took place during India's former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who occupied the prime post of India during the Congress government's regime at the center from 2004 to 2014. Anupam Kher reprises the central role of the ex-prime minister along with Akshaye Khanna, Aahana Kumra and Abdul Quadir Amin in other important roles.
