Paheli is a fantasy romance drama. The movie follows the story of an enthusiastic young girl Lachchi (Rani Mukherjee), who is married to Kishan (Shah Rukh Khan), the son of the rich merchant Bhanwarlal (Anupam Kher). Kishan leaves for a business trip, which will last for five years, the very next day of the wedding leaving Lachchi devastated. A ghost falls in love with Lachchi, and to be closer to her, he takes the form of Kishan. The ghost befriends Kishan’s family and Lachchi takes this newfound sensual and magical Kishan as her own. After four years, Lachchi gets pregnant but what will happen when real Kishan returns?
