Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara is a psychological drama. The movie follows the life of a retired Hindi professor, Uttam Chaudhary (Anupam Kher), who becomes a victim of dementia and believes that he has killed Gandhi. It is revealed that when Uttam was young he used to play a game with his brother, where the two targeted the red balloons on someone’s pictures with the toy gun. One day, Uttam popped a balloon placed over Mahatma Gandhi’s picture and was beaten up by his father for his actions and he kept telling his father that he didn’t kill Gandhi. This episode from his childhood had a great impact on him. Trisha (Urmila Matondkar), Uttam’s daughter shows utmost care and love towards her father and is determined to find treatment for her father’s condition. However, she might have to face a lot of problems to succeed in her mission.
