Shiv Shastri Balboa is a social comedy-drama about Shiv Shankar Shastri (Anupam Kher), a retiree from India who comes to the USA to meet his son and family and is inspired by the iconic Sylvester Stallone character Rocky Balboa. He is so much inspired by the movie that he is known as Shiv Shastri Balboa and keeps flaunting the red boxing gloves to his grandson but the latter has no clue about what the former is talking about. Even after several hardships and defeats Shiv Shastri refuses to give up on life and takes it beating lying down that’s when he decides to meet his real-life hero Sylvester Stallone but, on his way, encounters a middle-aged Indian lady (Neena Gupta) who just wants to go back to India. Together they form a life-changing friendship and go on a unique adventure road trip through the American heartland which teaches that it’s never too old to reinvent yourself.
