Detective Sherdil is a crime suspense thriller that is set in Budapest, which revolves around the sudden murder of a billionaire, Pankaj Bhatti (Boman Irani), who is found dead, leaving behind a will that reveals his fortune is split between his favourite canine and a complete outsider. Enter detective Sherdil (Diljit Dosanjh), and a list of suspects including the entire Bhatti family, starting with wife Rajeshwari (Ratna Pathak Shah), son Angad (Sumeet Vyas), daughter Shanti (Banita Sandhu), and brother-in-law (Chunky Panday). The dead man’s driver (Mukesh Bhatt) is also under the scanner, but the family’s ire is directed against Shanti’s boyfriend Poorvak (Arjun Tanwar), a deaf-mute like her, who was one of Bhatti’s favourites. How Detective Sherdil, along with his colleague Natasha (Diana Penty), goes about solving the case forms the remaining plot of this murder mystery.
