Deva is a action thriller drama and the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam hit Mumbai Police. The story is set in Mumbai that revolves around inspector Dev Ambre (Shahid Kapoor) who works for Mumbai Police and is known for his arrogance, anger and voilence and for not obeying rules. Despite being good at heart he takes pride in carrying out his duty as a cop and often gives credit to his near and dear ones. His sister Alka (Bhawana Aneja) is married to his senior colleague Farhan (Pravessh Rana) and shares a brotherly relationship with another of his colleagues ACP Rohan D’Silva (Pavail Gulatie). Following him closely is constable Sathaye’s daughter Diya (Pooja Hegde), who is an honest crime journalist with a newspaper. Life takes a u-turn for Dev when Rohan gets killed by a mysterious killer while being felicitated. Now all that Dev wants to do is crack the case of his slain friend and colleague but meets with a serious accident losing his memory. How Dev solves the complicated murder case of his friend forms the remaining plot of the story.
