Dil Chahta Hai is a coming-of-age romantic drama. The movie revolves around three college friends – Akash (Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) and Sid (Akshaye Khanna). After the graduation the three plan a trip to Goa to celebrate and decide to return there every year. On their return, Sameer’s parents arrange his marriage to their friends’ daughter Pooja (Sonali Kulkarni), with whom he falls in love, Sid falls in love with her much older neighbour Tara (Dimple Kapadia) and Akash is forced by his parents to move to Sydney and take care of their family business there. The three friends get busy in their lives and due to their different approaches towards relationships, they are further separated. However, will they still manage to sort out their differences, still be friends and go on vacation to Goa every year as decided?
