Dum Laga Ke Haisha is a romantic comedy-drama set in 1995 in Haridwar and revolves around a young man named Prem Prakash Tiwari (Ayushmann Khurrana), a school dropout, who is forced into an arranged marriage by his family. He hesitantly marries Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar), an educated but overweight girl. However, their lives take a turn when it is revealed that Prem doesn’t like Sandhya because of her obesity and the comments that his friends make on his wife as they head for a divorce. Before going for a divorce, they decide to participate in a couple race involving the husband carrying his wife on his back. The preparation for the race brings the two closer and the sparks of love start to ignite.
