Gehraiyaan is a romantic urban drama that touches upon the subject of relationships which we as human beings at times fail to understand and deal with. The story revolves around Alisha Khanna (Deepika Padukone), a 30-year-old ambitious yoga instructor who is in a live-in relationship with Karan (Dhairya Karwa) who has quit his job to write a book. Though both initially had things in common but now they find their six-year-long relationship at a crossroads that has grown monotonous. As Alisha finds her career hitting a roadblock and hard to accept this reality as unchangeable, incomes her cousin Tia (Ananya Panday) along with her fiancé, Zain (Siddhant Chaturvedi). Over a few hangouts and trips Alisha bonds with Zain over her troubled past and breaks new ground over her newfound friendship with the latter. Thus, begins a new chapter in Alisha and Zain’s life paving the way for a new relationship that may or may not be acceptable to others.
