Hamari Adhuri Kahani is a romantic musical drama. The movie revolves around a young single mother Vasudha (Vidya Balan) whose husband has been missing for five years. She meets Aarav Ruparel (Emraan Hashmi), a hotel baron, in his hotel where she works as a floral arranger. The two fall in love, but bound to the tradition, Vasudha is in a dilemma whether or not to accept Aarav’s love. Hari (Rajkummar Rao), Vasudha’s husband, suddenly returns, which creates a rift between the two lovers. Hari learns about the relationship and storms out of their lives, which makes Vasudha think that he has sacrificed his love for her happiness. However, Aarav realizes that Hari wanted to leave Vasudha in guilt. Will Aarav succeed in making Vasudha see the truth?
