Housefull is a romantic comedy-drama. The movie revolves around an unlucky person named Aarush (Akshay Kumar), who works in a casino and his bad luck makes everyone lose their money in poker. His love life is also miserable and his quest to find true love makes him end in the most miserable situations. On the advice of his friend Bob (Riteish Deshmukh) and his wife, Hetal (Lara Dutta), Aarush gets married to Devika Samtani (Jiah Khan) which soon ends in a divorce. He finally finds love in a girl named Sandy (Deepika Padukone), however, to convince her over-protective brother, Major Krishna Rao (Arjun Rampal), for the match would be an impossible task. Thus, begins a plan to convince Krishna Rao that Aarush is the perfect groom for Sandy but not before a series of confusions and comedy of errors take place.
