I Hate Luv Storys is a romantic comedy-drama that revolves around Jay (Imran Khan), an assistant director, who hates Bollywood love stories, and Simran (Sonam Kapoor), an art director, who loves Bollywood romances so much that she lives one with her boyfriend, Raj (Sameer Dattani). Their lives change when they encounter each other on the sets of a film. The two initially hate each other but soon become fond of each other. Simran starts to fall in love with Jay and realizes that Raj is not the right guy for her. Simran breaks up with Raj and confesses her feelings to Jay. However, Jay, who also loves Simran, finds it difficult to accept his feelings that make things complicated.
