It's My Life is a romantic family drama and the remake of the Telugu hit film Bommarillu (2006). The film primarily revolves around Siddhant Sharma (Nana Patekar), a well-to-do successful businessman who makes all the decisions in his family including his wife, sons, daughter, and grandchildren. Siddhant gets his youngest son Abhishek Sharma's (Harman Baweja) engagement to one of his friend's daughters. Post-engagement Abhishek falls in love with Muskaan (Genelia D'Souza) who belongs to a middle-class family. Abhishek's relationship with his father and interference in his life leads to the latter harbouring bitterness as he reveals his intention to marry Muskaan. Will Siddhant's family approve of their marriage?
