Govardhan Asrani, popularly known as Asrani, was an Indian actor, comedian and film director. In the career span of five decades, he has appeared in over 350 films and played a variety of roles ranging from lead roles, character roles, small supporting roles, comic roles, etc. in the movies. He started his acting career with the 1967 social family drama Hare Kaanch Ki Chooriyan. Some important movies of his career include Mere Apne (1971), Parichay (1972), Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar (1974), Chala Murari Hero Banne (1977), Agar Tum Na Hote (1983), Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988), Hera Pheri (2000), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Dhamaal (2007), Bol Bachchan (2012) and many more. He was married to actress and film producer, Manju Asrani. He breathed his last on 20 October 2025.
