Indian cinema's biggest motion picture which went on to break all box-office records, Sholay narrated the story of Thakur Baldev Singh (Sanjeev Kumar) whose whole family has been massacred in his village Ramgarh by the area's most dreaded dacoit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan). To avenge his family's loss Thakur Baldev Singh hires two city-bred goons Jai (Amitabh Bachchan) and Veeru (Dharmendra) to settle scores with Gabbar Singh. The remaining story is about how both the goons nab Gabbar and his men and help Thakur fulfill his mission.
