‘He-man’ of Indian cinema, Dharmendra is an Indian actor and producer. He has appeared in over 100 successful movies as a main lead. He made his screen debut in Bollywood with Arjun Hingorani’s Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960). He has appeared alongside top heroines like Nutan, Saira Banu, Mala Sinha, Meena Kumari and Hema Malini in several movies. In 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. In the career span of 60 years, he has acted in over 300 films. Some of the most important movies of his career include Bandini (1963), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1965), Phool Aur Patthar (1967), Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1972), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1974), Resham Ki Dori (1975), Sholay (1975), Shalimar (1978), Naukar Biwi Ka (1984) and many more. The Government of India honoured him with Padma Bhushan in 2012 for his contribution to Indian cinema. He married twice. His first marriage was to Prakash Kaur in 1954, with whom he has four children, including actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. In 1980, he married actress Hema Malini and the couple has two daughters, including actress Esha Deol.
