Farishtay is an action comedy drama. The movie follows the story of a young woman named Gayatri (Swapna), who lives with her two adoptive brothers - Veeru (Dharmendra) and Dheeru (Vinod Khanna). Gayatri falls in love with Police Inspector Arjun Thanghe (Rajinikanth), so her brothers get her married to him. Later, Veeru and Dheeru are hired by Raja Jaichand (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), a dictator near the border area, who kills innocent people brutally. One day, Raja Jaichand’s men, along with Veeru and Dheeru, attack a Police Camp where Arjun was stationed, and he gets killed in the attack. Gayatri loses her sanity after hearing the news. It is then her two brothers make it their mission to take revenge from Jaichand and his army, and bring Gayatri’s sanity back.
