Born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, Rajinikanth is one of the most prominent people in Tamil film industry. After completion of his education, he started to do odd jobs like coolie and bus conductor. Since the beginning, he had a dream to become a film actor, but circumstances didn’t favor it, so he continued performing in stage plays. Later, he joined Madras Film Institute, and his co-worker helped him financially. His efforts worked, as he landed a role in K. Balachander’s 1975 Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal. He made his Bollywood debut with the 1983 film Andhaa Kaanoon, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. He has also acted in movies like Meri Adaalat (1984), Wafadaar (1985), Bhagwaan Dada (1986), Tamacha (1988), ChaalBaaz (1989), Hum (1991), Insaniyat Ka Devta (1993), and many more. He married Latha Rangachari on 26th February 1981, whom he met in an interview. The couple has two daughters, Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth.
