Jawan is the story of an upright and honest army soldier Vikram Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan) who traps one of the biggest arms dealers Kaali Gaikwad (Vijay Sethupathi). In order to seek revenge Kaali kills Vikram and frames the latter's wife Aishwarya Rathore (Deepika Padukone) for it. Aishwarya is hanged to death in jail but not before giving birth to her son Azad (Shah Rukh Khan). Vikram somehow survives Kaali's attack and promises to mend things in his own way. Azad who grows up as a jailor is driven by a personal vendetta to rectify the wrongs done by many corrupt officials and politicians in society. Backed by a team of experts he turns into a vigilante with no fear and terminating all anti-social elements one by one. To stop him in his mission is none other than his own wife Narmada (Nayanthara), an honest cop who is out to get him. What’ll happen when father and son come face to face, who’ll get the better of the other forms the remaining part of this fast action-paced thriller?
