Kaanchli is a social romantic drama based on the folklore by Vijaydan Detha showcasing the plight and intricacies of a rural woman Kajari (Shikha Malhotra) who is married and seeks assurance of love and protection in return from her husband Kishnu (Nareshpal Singh Chouhan). However, the cruel intentions of the village’s Thakur zamindar lead to an indecent proposal to her husband who is allured for money in exchange for his wife. Kajari tries to defend herself but ends up getting hurt and dejected as she decides to test her husband`s loyalty. Will Kajari succeed or succumb to the Thakur’s advances and proposal?
