Kanjoos Makhichoos is a family comedy-drama about Jamna Prasad Pandey (Kunal Khemu), an infamous miser who has many tricks up his sleeve to save every penny that matters in day-to-day life. Jamna Prasad stays with his wife, son, and parents who are fed up with his penny-pinching habits but later learns that he is saving up to send his parents on a pilgrimage. During the pilgrimage when his parents go missing due to a natural calamity, the government announces compensation for his family. When Jamna Prasad gets to know that the middlemen siphon off a portion of the compensation, he loses his cool. Upset over such cheating, he decides to fight back against the corrupt system.
