Kismet is Bollywood’s first blockbuster movie that went on to break all box-office records. A social family drama, Kismet narrates the tale of an orphan, named Shekhar (Ashok Kumar) who is a pickpocket and a conman who by fate lands up staying as a paying guest in an old man’s house who was once rich and ran a theater. Shekhar grows close to the family by helping them financially but fate has other things in store for him.
