Lakshmi is a biographical social drama that deals with the harsh realities of child trafficking and prostitution. The movie revolves around a 14-year-old girl Lakshmi (Monali Thakur), who is kidnapped from her village and forced into prostitution. She is brutally beaten, raped, and treated inhumanely. Lakshmi barely survives with the help of other girls and her will to never give up. She is finally rescued in a police raid and against all odds, she shows courage when others fail to do so and helps the police to catch the traffickers and put them behind bars.
